The Most Honest Man in Town?

“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
Acts 17:11 (NIV)

Why the challenge?

Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6). As Christians we have found the way in Christ. We love Him, praise Him, and share Him with others. We believe in salvation through Christ as the Scripture says, “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:21). This is the foundation of our Christian walk. But is it all? Do we stop with the foundation? Remember the Scripture – “I am the way, the truth, and the life”? By calling on the name of the Lord, we have made the first step on our journey to obtain eternal life, but remember Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21). Now we need to know the truth. And here is where we find many problems. Many do not know what the truth is or how to find it. Worse, many popular Christian doctrines are not founded on the Scriptures and many even contradict them (read about Aristotle’s spider below). When was the last time you checked what you’ve been taught from childhood to see if it agrees with the Word of God? The results may surprise you….

Aristotle’s Spider

Do you still believe in a six-legged spider?

As everyone knows, Aristotle was a very famous Greek philosopher with many educational credentials. Back in about 350 BC, Aristotle stated that “the spider has six legs”. No one doubted what this great man of philosophy said, so for many centuries people accepted his statement as fact. Then a common uneducated man by the name of James Lamarck came on the scene.

The Laodicean Condition

In the last days of earth’s history, Christians are in danger of being in the condition spoken of in Revelation

“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are…
